- Summary of community conceptualizations.
Two methods are used in conceptualizing communities. Communities are conceptualized in dimensional flat Euclidian surface or the “flat earth assumption.” Euclidean space refers to geometry’s fundamental area used to represent physical space. - The concept of development as it relates to community development work.
Development is a significant component of community development work. It provides a city with the foundation needed to improve its citizens’ lives. Development leads to creating diverse communities that can attract and retain talent, initiate and grow businesses, and overcome potential challenges.
- Systems concerning community development.

Formulating systems, the professional better understands why community members face specific life changes. Strategies for addressing identified issues are then formulated, resulting in community development.

Conflict among community members is inevitable. Interpersonal conflict significantly contributes to the breakdown of attraction and the creation of repulsion. In most cases, interpersonal conflict occurs due to perceived or actual incompatible goals, opposing viewpoints, or scarce resources (Smiley, 2018). It interferes with individual and group decisions and actions in various ways, interfering with the community’s well-being and sense of development. Community Development Essay Assignment
- Power relationships and community norms that hinder development.
Community members can take the actions required to empower themselves through political discussions and social participation. In some cases, leaders deny community members an opportunity to participate in political discussions and activities, limiting them from contributing opinions and views needed for community development. Additionally, community norms hinder a group of people, such as women, from participating in development activities, hindering community development.
- The effectiveness of different approaches to community development
One approach to community development is the participatory approach. This approach allows community members to give their ideas and opinions, contributing to community development. A second approach is an asset-based approach that focuses on developing a community using available resources. Community Development Essay Assignment
