PART 1: Select a Topic & Conduct your Research Select one of the following topics to study. You will create a slide presentation (8–10 slides) that communicates your research findings. Slides should be well-organized, visually appealing, and easy to read. Use bullet points, images, and concise text rather than large blocks of writing. Cite sources where appropriate, following APA guidelines for in-slide citations and a reference slide at the end. Check for spelling and grammar errors. Choose ONE topic: Prophets’ Messages of Judgment & Hope The Biblical prophets addressed issues such as concerns for the poor, social deterioration, breakdown of the family, and environmental issues. How did they provide a message of both judgment and hope to the people of their times? Give specific examples of different prophets of ancient Israel, the issues they addressed, and their messages. Emotions in the Psalms The Psalms give expression to a wide range of human emotions. Identify 2–3 emotions and provide specific examples of Psalms that express them. Explain how the Psalms you select speak to each emotion. Wisdom Literature & the Meaning of Life Proverbs, Job, and Ecclesiastes—known as the wisdom books—explore life’s purpose and meaning. In what way does each book provide insight into whether life has any discernable meaning and purpose? Themes in Ruth, Esther, and Daniel These stories seem very different, yet share key questions: What is God doing in the story? What are the people of God doing? What do these stories call the people of God to do? Answer for each book, then summarize the shared themes.
