Assessment Task
You will be allocated into a group to work on the given health promotion program for a particular target population. You are requested to work closely with your group to develop a campaign poster for health promotion drawn from critical analysis and applying theory into practice. The poster can be designed to promote your health promotion program (e.g. invitation of community to participate in the program) or developed to be used as a tool in a particular health intervention (e.g. health educational poster, informative poster). The poster will be used to improve the communication between the community and health promotors to enhance or sustain the success of the health promotion and eventually could build community capacity and empowerment.
Context
Public health promotion campaigns are often multi-faceted, and one common component of these campaigns are posters. Posters are used as a tool to increase engagement and to allow information to be portrayed in an accessible format. As a health promotion tool, a poster can overcome health literacy issues, attract interest from people of different ages, and culture backgrounds. The assessment offer students the opportunity to learn more about community health and health behaviour, consequently students will be able to translate the concepts of communication strategies and community capacity building into public health interventions.
Instructions
1. Critically review the given health promotion program for the specific community/group.
2. Seek further information to support ideas for your poster.
3. Apply health promotion strategies, community capacity building concepts and health communication strategies.
4. Develop a poster that could be used either to promote the health promotion program or to be a material/tool for your health intervention.
5. Present your poster in class as if you are presenting to the target audience of the poster. In other words, the class (including students and lecturer(s) will pretend to be your target audience for the poster.
6. Submit your poster in PDF file through the submission button in your group area in MyLearn.
7. Provide at least 5 references to support your assignment, using APA 7th edition referencing style.
