- A minimum of two direct quotes from two different textbooks assigned for the course
- For each virtue:
- Definition from Merriam-Webster with explanation
- Examples of the virtue; preferably authentic such as Martin Luther King, Jr., John Wooden, Pat Summitt,
- Application of the virtue to the role of coach or administrator
- References must include two textbooks (minimum) and three Merriam-Webster (minimum)
- Must reference the complete list of virtues and responsibilities in Appendix G

Chapter V Legal Aspects and Considerations (For students who took 580 in the Summer 2023 to present)
- (Minimum 14 pages – 2 references) – third person/some use of first person permitted
- For each of the 14 Legal Duties complete a minimum of one page with the following requirements:
- Describe the legal duty
- Discuss at least two areas where your athletic program or team complies with respect to this legal duty
- Discuss at least two areas where your athletic program or team is deficient or needs to improve with respect to this legal duty
- A minimum of two references that are also cited in the body of your paper
- The body of the paper (not including the title page, abstract, reference list or appendices) should be a minimum of 14 pages
- Appendix E will include the EAP
