Make sure you provide the citations in MLA or APA format in a separate page at the end of the assignment. You may choose one that is a general overview of the environmental impact and one that explores safer environmental options for AI, for example. You may choose from academic articles or news articles.
Examine the authors’ word choice, assumptions, arguments, and negotiation of authority in the form of textual signifiers of authority. For this assignment, draw conclusions about the differences you observe in the texts. Respond to the following questions:
1. Explain how the language and other textual signifiers of authority used by each rhetor indicate the authors’ ability to respond to audience expectations showcasing their ethos/credibility.
2. How and why do authors adjust for different discourse communities, different audiences? Include summaries, paraphrases, and (occasional) quotations from both texts to illustrate your points and cite your sources appropriately in either MLA or APA format.
3. Discuss the first essay, then the second one. Make sure you have a conclusion.
