Introduction
Kreisel et al. (2018) define genital herpes as a sexually transmitted infection that is caused by two types of viruses, the herpes simplex virus type 1 and herpes simplex virus type 2. The authors further define chlamydia as a common type of STI caused by chlamydia trachomatis, which can cause proctitis, cervicitis, and urethritis. Despite its efficacy, obstetrician-gynecologists face greater legal, practical, medical, and administrative barriers to its widespread use. Also, interactive counseling can do better in the treatment of the two infections.
Contact tracing is very important in dealing with the issue of sexually transmitted infections. One of the ways of getting Nancy’s partners to come for treatment would be by use of physician advice on the dangers of untreated STDs. The partners would be encouraged to seek treatment and diagnosis even if they do not feel any signs of infection as the infection might be in the asymptomatic stage. The patient should also be encouraged to inform all her partners about the dangers of the infection if it goes for long without treatment.
