In week 2 you were given a specific country, ensure that you thoroughly research the health profile of this country.
Think about a specific disease, disaster or threat that is prominent in this country, as well as a specific population group that would be classed as vulnerable. Again, ensure this topic is thoroughly researched. Once you have done this, you are set to begin writing this report. Goodluck!

TASK 1 (600 words*)
Setting the Scene for Health Protection & Health Improvement
What is the purpose of Health Protection and Health Improvement? Critically explain how these sit under Public Health directives. Critically compare communicable and non-communicable diseases in relation to health protection and health improvement. Provide Key Non-Health Related Indicators What are some key geographic, demographic, socio-economic and cultural indicators that may be relevant for population health. Present an evidence-based critical analysis of how these indicators affect the health of a nation. TASK 2 (1400 words*)
Identifying the Health Needs of Chosen Population
Present the Country Health Profile Using existing evidence (official reports, official statistics, research papers, etc.), present the key health indicators of your selected country. Select a Disease (communicable or non-communicable) or Disaster or Hazard Provide an evidence-based rationale for your selection (prevalence and impact, nationally and internationally) Analyse the Country-Specific and Global Policy That Addresses the Selected Topic Present and critically evaluate at least one policy (a strategy, action plan, legislation, etc.) at the national and international levels. If such a policy does not exist, explain why you think this is the case and find a broader policy (e.g., if there is no policy related to vaccine-preventable diseases, present a national health policy or child health policy).
The Role of Lifestyle In relation to your chosen topic, which lifestyles contribute to vulnerability, and which lifestyles may be considered protective? Vulnerable Populations Identify and describe the most vulnerable populations in the context of the selected topic. Provide an evidence-based rationale for your selection. Additionally, elaborate on the role of social justice, poverty, and inequity in the context of the selected topic. Assessing and addressing health needs Identify the most unmet needs of this population. Provide an evidence-based rationale for your selection using theoretical frameworks and empirical data. Propose an approach for needs assessment. Clearly define the objective of the needs assessment in relation to the unmet needs Explain how the health needs assessment may be conducted. Develop a Health Improvement and Protection Strategy
Propose a Health promotion strategy (focus can be on protection or improvement) Provide a brief rationale for why you think this programme/intervention should be implemented, including its aim and objectives facets of the programme/intervention, action plan timeline, resources needed, and a plan for evaluation. Lifespan transition Explain how the proposed programme would consider lifespan transition. Behaviour Change Intervention Within the proposed programme, propose a behaviour change model that addresses the specific needs of one most vulnerable population and explain how the intervention would be implemented. Present and explain the objectives of the behaviour change intervention, explain the model, and how it may be applied within the behaviour change intervention.
