Assignment Brief

Learning Outcomes:
After completing the module, you should be able to:
1) Critically evaluate the major theoretical and empirical studies of national cultural differences assessing their impact and contributions on leading teams across international borders.
2) Critically analyse the impact of the evolving digital landscape and technology on the management and leadership of global teams and organisations to shape the global workforce for the future.
3) Analyse challenges of cultural influences on management practices and develop strategies to address multi-cultural issues.
4) Evaluate the business implications of globalisation for effective organisation design and structures.
5) (GA) Professional Skills. Work within a team, demonstrating interpersonal skills such as effective listening, negotiating, persuading and presentation. Being flexible and adaptable to changes within the professional environment. Assignment Task – Organisational Audit Report
This assignment is worth 70% of the total marks for the module.
You are required to choose a global organisation from the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry (can be the same one analysed in the presentation), or you can choose your own workplace if the organisation is in the same industry. You are required to conduct an audit of the firm’s culture and practices with specific references to the way it manages and leads its global teams. The report should consider effective organisation design and development with appropriate recommendations and reference to key theories/concepts.
Your organisational audit report should:
• Identify the challenges of cultural influences on management practices and develop strategies to address multi-cultural issues.

• Analyse the above identified challenges about their impact on management practices and develop strategies to address multi-cultural issues. (25 marks) (LO2, LO3)
• Discuss the business implications of globalisation for managing cultural challenges with effective organisation design and structures.
(30 marks) (LO4)
• Critically evaluate and select the best management tools or leadership style from the above business implications. (30 marks) (LO3,4,5)
• This Task will be submitted into the ‘Submit Report’ submission port in iLearn. (100 marks) (3,500 words)
Formative Feedback

The feedback is designed to help you develop areas of your work and it helps you develop your skills as an independent learner.
If you are a distance learning student, you should submit your work, by email, to your tutor, no later than 2 weeks before the actual submission deadline. If you are a blended learning student, your tutor will give you a deadline for formative feedback and further details.
Formative feedback will not be given to work submitted after the above date or the date specified by your tutor – if a blended learning student.

Submission Guidance
Assignments submitted late will not be accepted and will be marked as a 0% fail. Your assessment can be submitted as a single Word (MS Word) or PDF file, or, as multiple files.
If you chose to submit multiple files, you must name each document as the question/part you are answering along with your student number i.e. Q1 Section A STUXXXX. If you wish to overwrite your submission or one of your submissions, you must ensure that your new submission is named exactly the same as the previous in order for the system to overwrite it.

Assessment Criteria (Learning objectives covered – all)
