Task summary: Review a healthcare crisis and explore an evidence-based practice or intervention that has impacted and provided solutions to solve the crisis. Assignment instructions: For this task, you should submit a written critical review (3,000 words) as a Word document.
You should:
Use reliable academic research from the last five years to provide solution/s to a health issue You are expected to link this to the improvement of health and well-being in population health, and/or the development of health and care system approaches. You should demonstrate an understanding of the strengths and limitations of the selected evidence-base and practice. Your submission should consist of:
An executive summary Outline the main themes covered within your healthcare crisis and the evidence-based intervention you have focused on including the findings of your review. Mention any specific theories/models/strategies that are covered in your report. It is written in the past tense Introduction Provide a summary of the assignment task an identification of your chosen health or social care crisis and mentioned the intervention you have selected for your critical review. Concept of evidence-based practice Describe what evidence-based practice is and its importance in health and care delivery Outline your health crisis Evaluate evidence-based research Consider research approaches including qualitative, quantitative data, primary and second research methodologies Outline the advantages and disadvantages of each approach with justification on what approach you have taken Consider how these approaches can support links between health of individuals, populations, healthcare systems and resources Illustrate an understanding of data search methodologies, such as the PICO framework Critically review past and current healthcare crises and source potential interventions Identify 5 papers that support an intervention/s to overcome your chosen health crisis Identify who the target population is Literature cannot be more than 5 years old and must be credibl Illustrate the use of a CARS checklist to show and explain how it can be ensured that papers are credible and reliable Consider the advantages and limitations of the intervention/s from the literature Recommendation Reach a justified conclusion on a specific intervention/s to support your health issue Link your findings to the improvement of health and well-being in population health, and/or the development of health and care system approaches. Your understanding of evidence-based principles and their application Your choice of literature to review Your ability to critically appraise literature to reach a valid conclusion This module is marked using the Arden University Categorical Marking Criteria
You will have one opportunity to receive written feedback on your draft submission, covering up to 750 words (equivalent to 25% of word count). The deadline for submitting your draft for feedback is the end of teaching week 8. Additional support is available through the module leader’s drop-in sessions; please check iLearn for the session timings.
Your assignment should include: a title page containing your student number, the module name, the submission deadline and the exact word count of your submitted document; the appendices if relevant; and a reference list in (see referencing section for more information). You should address all the elements of the assignment task listed. Please note that tutors will use the assessment criteria set out below in assessing your work.
You must not include your name in your submission because Arden University operates anonymous marking, which means that markers should not be aware of the identity of the student. However, please do not forget to include your STU number.
