Work backward: If your paper provides answers, what questions would a scholarly reader assume you asked? 2. Research the Opposing View Temporarily adopt the opposition’s perspective. Assume they are good people who are reasonable and informed. Locate credible sources that support this view. Read with an open mind. Write 2–3 paragraphs capturing the opposition’s valid points. Freewriting style is fine. Briefly note any surprising insights or value the opposition contributes to the broader conversation. 3. Freewriting and Looping: Opposition Version Grab the four key ideas you developed in your One-Sided activity. For each idea, rewrite it from the opposing perspective.
