You will prepare a short analysis/reflection on half (always more than one chapter or article) of the week’s reading (600 words). Your reflections/analysis should be sufficiently specific to demonstrate that you have carefully read the material but should NOT be a summary of the readings -instead, it should be your reaction to the readings. The papers should be written in the format of an essay – have a point, state your point, offer support for your point, offer conclusions and future issues to consider. Think about what you agreed and/or disagreed with. Think about questions that were left unresolved. In addition, excellent papers are those in which ideas from the new readings are integrated with previous readings, class discussions, and personal experiences. Use your best critical thinking skills! Students should express their thoughts and ideas, and develop coherent arguments or statements. PROOFREAD your papers for clarity, typos, and grammatical errors.
